Rashtrapati Bhavan was built between 1912 and 1929 as the residence of the British Viceroy of India. Designed by the famous architect Sir Edwin Lutyens, it became the official home of the President of India after independence in 1947.
The building combines Indian and European styles of architecture, with its massive dome, elegant colonnades, and red-and-cream sandstone. Spread across 330 acres, it has over 300 rooms and is surrounded by the famous Mughal Gardens.
Visitors can explore different sections of Rashtrapati Bhavan: Main Building – the grand halls and chambers, Mughal Gardens – open to the public during special seasons (Udyan Utsav), Rashtrapati Bhavan Museum – showcasing India’s history, freedom struggle, and presidential heritage.

- By Bus/Auto: Well-connected by DTC buses and auto-rickshaws from all parts of Delhi.
- By Car: Street parking is available in designated spots along Kartavya Path.
