Nageshwar Jyotirlinga - Dwarka, Gujarat,

Nageshwar Jyotirlinga, one of the 12 holy Jyotirlingas of Lord Shiva, is a highly revered pilgrimage site for Hindus. Located near Dwarka in Gujarat, this temple holds immense spiritual significance. Devotees believe that worshipping Lord Shiva here can free them from fear of snakes and poison, and bring peace, prosperity, and spiritual growth.

According to Shiva Purana, there was once a demon named Daruka who troubled innocent people. A great devotee of Lord Shiva, Supriya, was imprisoned by the demon. Supriya advised other prisoners to chant Om Namah Shivaya, which angered Daruka. But when Supriya prayed with full devotion, Lord Shiva appeared and destroyed the demon. From that moment, Shiva manifested here as Nageshwar Jyotirlinga.

This is why Lord Shiva at this temple is known as the protector from all types of poison and negativity.
The temple has a simple yet powerful design, built in traditional Hindu architecture. The giant Shiva statue outside the temple attracts pilgrims and tourists alike. Inside, the sanctum maintains a peaceful atmosphere, allowing devotees to connect deeply with Lord Shiva.

Rituals and Worship: Chanting of Om Namah Shivaya is considered highly auspicious here. Devotees perform Abhishek with milk, water, honey, and Bilva leaves. Offering Rudraksha beads and prayers is believed to bring good health and spiritual upliftment.

It is said that worshipping here removes fear of snakes and death by poison. The temple houses a massive 80-feet tall Lord Shiva statue, which is a major attraction for visitors. The Jyotirlinga is placed in an underground sanctum, symbolizing the deep spiritual energy of Lord Shiva. Devotees especially visit during Mahashivratri, when grand celebrations and rituals take place.
