Religious Significance

Bet Dwarka is believed to be the original residential place of Lord Krishna, where he lived with his family. The name “Bet” means “gift”, and the place is said to have been gifted to Krishna by his devotee Sudama.

The main temple on the island is Shrine of Lord Krishna, often associated with Dwarakadheesh form of Krishna. The temple is over 500 years old and was believed to be built by Vallabhacharya.
